Organizations at Sacred Heart of Jesus

Knights of Columbus - Red Church Council #3634

The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic fraternal organization. Founded in 1882 in the basement of St. Mary's church in New Haven, Connecticut, it has grown to a worldwide membership approaching 2 million. There are 12,000 local KC Councils. Our local council is the Red Church Council #3634, which serves Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Norco and St. Charles Borromeo Church in Destrehan. Local membership continues to grow, currently reaching 250.

Faith, Family and Fraternity make up the foundation upon which The Knights of Columbus stand. The Knights' numerous activities and programs promote these values. The Knights financially support vocations, the pro-life movement and efforts to "Keep Christ in Christmas." Our local council sponsors family events such as Easter Egg Hunts, Christmas parties and a "Family of the Month" program. In the interests of each members' family, The Knights of Columbus Life Insurance Program has been established. Fraternally, Knights work together to raise funds for the mentally handicapped, the aged, Catholic Education and the youth of our community.

Local contacts are Financial Secretary Ralph St. Ament at 764-7166 and Membership Director Lance Marino at 725-0550. The KCs meet the second Tuesday of each month at 7pm for dinner and a meeting at the KC Home, 375 Spruce Street Norco, LA.

Its primary purpose is to promote love, honor and respect for the most Holy Name of Jesus. It is definitely a spiritual organization destined to assist us in our own personal sanctification and the sanctification of all people.
