Sacred Heart of Jesus School is a traditional Catholic Elementary School located in the community of Norco, Louisiana. Founded in 1959 and rooted in the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Sacred Heart School provides a nurturing, child-centered environment for learning which encompasses a curriculum based on faith, tradition, and high academic standards. The sense of family, community, academic excellence, and commitment to living the Catholic faith defines Sacred Heart School.

Sacred Heart of Jesus School includes a 2 year old Early Learning Center, a Montessori early childhood program for Pre-K3, Pre-K 4 and Kindergarten, and 1st through 7th grades with a 9:1 student/teacher ratio. The curriculum is enhanced with a computer lab, Hatch tablets, Ipads, Smart Boards, science lab, library, a fine arts department including Art, Music (based on the Orff program), and Drama, foreign languages (Spanish and French), and 7th grade students are offered pre-Algebra. The students participate in weekly masses, service learning projects, the Living Rosary, Living Nativity, Passion Plays, May Crowning, middle school retreats, daily religion classes, and Catholic faith and doctrine is integrated across the curriculum.

The students also enjoy extracurricular clubs and athletics including altar servers, choir, drama, 4-H, volleyball, flag football, basketball, cheerleading, Student Council, and Jr. BETA Club. The students participate in academic, speech, and art competitions at local high schools as well as in regional and state Science and Social Studies Fairs.

To meet the demanding schedules of our working parents, an AM/PM Care program and Study Hall/Homework Help programs are offered. Sacred Heart provides a family atmosphere where our parents and community members are invited and encouraged to share their gifts and talents along with the highly dedicated faculty and staff. Together, Sacred Heart provides the students with role models as they prepare for success in today’s world forming Christian boys and girls who can make good moral decisions as they grow.

Sacred Heart of Jesus School is accredited with the Louisiana Board of Education (BESE) as well as AdvancED/Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The ultimate goal of the school is to produce students who grow in God’s love with the ability to become Christian adults committed to serving the Lord and one another in our changing world.
